We are proud to announce the next step in Arcadia’s mission to provide clean energy access to all Americans — our acquisition of iSolar, the country’s largest direct sales channel for community solar.

iSolar has been a critical sales partner for Arcadia, and we are excited that they’re officially joining the Arcadia team. iSolar’s tremendous track record in expanding community solar access to low- and moderate-income (LMI) communities and small businesses — over 750MW to date — will be a vital asset to advancing our vision of providing equitable access to clean energy.

We are proud to welcome iSolar to the team, and we look forward to working together on our shared purpose of redefining accessibility and affordability in the energy industry.

Community solar is the best way — and in many cases the only way — to bring the benefits of cheaper, cleaner, local solar to LMI communities. It allows any customer to subscribe to a remote solar farm, saving them money and lowering overall carbon emissions from the grid.

Since the beginning, we’ve been committed to reversing regressive program rules we’ve seen from others in the market. That means stripping away credit requirements, upfront fees, and hefty cancellation and moving penalties. Arcadia customers never have to worry about their favorable terms expiring when they least expect them, which has unfortunately been a common predatory feature in energy markets.

The power of dialogue through iSolar’s direct sales approach will help communities get up to speed on community solar quickly and help inform customers of the lifetime savings and carbon impact from their slice of a project.

This acquisition comes on the heels of the Biden Administration’s announcement that community solar systems will power the equivalent of five million households by 2025. The Arcadia policy team has also successfully advocated to expand community solar programs in states across the country, from Maine to New Mexico. With iSolar’s 50-state dealer network, we’ll be well positioned as community solar opens in every state.

iSolar’s expansive, nationwide sales network will help us deliver on our foundational vision to provide affordable, clean, and renewable energy to everyone. And we’ll do it by directly engaging with communities who most often bear the burden of fossil fuel pollution.
