This month, we officially launched our first-ever community solar project in the state of Massachusetts. Located in the city of Methuen, this project will provide clean energy and savings to about 50 households. The project also aims to increase accessibility to solar power for everyone by designating at about half of the projects to low-income households. But it’s just the first of many for the state — our partners at Madison Energy Investments currently have at least 15 more community solar projects scheduled to come online for Arcadia members in 2020.
Because solar energy is less expensive than fossil fuel energy, you see lower power bills every month.
Massachusetts homeowners and renters can benefit from these local community solar projects by joining the Arcadia community today. Here’s how it works: when you sign up, we reserve your spot in a local solar farm for free. If the solar farm is still under construction, it might take a couple of months before you see any changes, but once the project goes live, the sun gets to work and clean energy flows into your local power grid.
Because solar energy is less expensive than fossil fuel energy, you see lower power bills every month. In fact, our members see about 5% monthly savings on average. Plus, subscribing to community solar costs absolutely nothing and is exclusive to Arcadia members.
Save money with Community Solar.
Check availabilityTraditionally, accessing community solar requires residents to fill out extensive paperwork, agree to lengthy contracts of 10 years or more, undergo a credit check, and pay an additional monthly electric bill. These standards pose a challenge for residents that want access to renewable energy but are unable to meet the requirements. We are working to eliminate these barriers to entry by offering a two-minute sign-up process at no cost, with no cancellation fees or credit requirements.
The future of energy is people-powered, and we look forward to bringing Massachusetts households hassle-free guaranteed solar savings. Because community solar can, and should, be easy to access for everyone in the state of Massachusetts. So, if you’re a renter or homeowner in Massachusetts interested in signing up for a local community solar project, create an Arcadia account to receive updates. We’ll notify you as soon as a spot in a Massachusetts project becomes available. It’s the easiest thing you can do to help support and tap into real clean energy, locally.
It’s all the savings of solar, without any of the cost or headache of installing your own panels. Plus, you’ll be part of a movement bringing clean energy to Massachusetts for years to come.
