Anheuser-Busch has purchased enough wind power to produce 20 billion beers per year. They worked with Enel Green Power to purchase over 150 MWh of wind power from the Thunder Ranch wind project in Oklahoma.

Following the Trend

Thousands of companies across the country are reducing their environmental footprint with renewable power purchase agreements. Massive companies like Amazon and Johnson & Johnson are offsetting their usage with hundreds of MWh of wind energy every year.

Anheuser-Busch will be getting about 610 GWh a year from Enel. Their renewable energy credit purchase will cover 50% of their usage, with the help of the 7.5 MW solar and wind facilities they have on-site. This is all a part of growing their renewable portfolio to “strive for long-term sustainability”, as said by João Castro Neves, the president and CEO of Anheuser-Busch.

The current total investment in Thunder Ranch is about $435 million. This wind farm is expected to churn out over 1,100 GWh of renewable energy a year. With the help of large companies like Anheuser-Busch, wind and solar farms can thrive.

The more companies that follow the renewable trend, the faster we will make it to a carbon-free world. The good news is the trend is upward and has no plans of turning back.
